First, if you want to use it right away, get the avocados that are sold separately, not in bags. Then look at the color, it should be brown or greenish brown like in this photo.
If you don’t plan on using it for a few days select one that is more green. It will ripen in 2-3 days, then you can put it in your refrigerator to keep it longer.
If you can not find organic avocados, conventional will be OK. They are on the top of the top 15 cleanest foods (not so many pesticides).
Avocados are great right out of the shell with a little salt. I cut them up and put them in salads. You can’t go wrong with a good Guacamole. I will post a recipe for it and other things you can do with avocados soon.
